ESC:200 Course Index

ESC:200 Engineering Circuits I - A survey of engineering analysis methods applied to electrical circuits. Analysis methods are systematically developed from the fundamental laws of Ohm and Kirchhoff. Characteristics of energy storage elements are explored and network reduction theorems are applied to both resistive and reactive circuits. Operational impedance methods are introduced with the time domain transient analysis of first order RL and RC circuits and second order RLC circuits. Theoretical relationships among electrical circuit parameters are verified experimentally for both direct current and time domain transient cases. [3 lecture, 2 lab hours per week.]
