4. Course Description:
A study of the principal peripheral devices used with computers to produce digital operating systems. The devices studied will be dynamic and static RAMs, LED displays, keyboards, memory, disks, modems, printers and analog to digital and digital to analog conversions. [3 lecture, 2 lab hours per week.]

The student successfully completing this course will:
7.1 Install and maintain personal computer systems.
7.2 Troubleshoot and repair peripheral devices.
7.3 Upgrade existing computer systems.
7.4 Correctly use manufacturer's service manuals.
7.5 Use manufacturer's data to select replacement components for specific applications.
7.6 Present the results of laboratory investigations in an acceptable form.

The students successfully completing this course will:
8.1 Attend class as scheduled.
8.2 Complete and submit assignments by due dates.
8.3 Maintain "C" level standards on daily assignments.
8.4 Demonstrate proficiency in electrical safety activities at a minimum level of 70%.
8.5 Demonstrate proficiency in laboratory activities at a minimum level of 70%.
